Czech it out…
Yesterday we went to Novy Bor, a ‘small,’ somewhat impoverished area about a three hour trip north of Prague. We went to see a glass-blowing company, a glass-making school, and the museum of glass (yes, there really is a museum of glass). The glass blowers were absolutely amazing - I was in awe of everything around me for hours…
We ate lunch at a glass-blowing themed restaurant - yes, really - where we could watch people blowing glass in a room surrounded by glass. The glasses on the table were, yes, you guessed it, made there (or at one of the many glass-blowing facilities in the the town). It was insane to see how much of that town revolved around one thing. Everything was beautiful, and I’m still wondering how people could get so talented. Every glass I pick up now, I have to examine it and wonder how it was made. I’m pretty much the world’s newest leading glass expert, ha ha.
