This is unreal…
Do you know what the temperature is today in Oneonta? 55.
Yes, that’s right - fifty-five. It even says so here. This is absolutely unreal. I am walking around campus in a tee shirt, and I’ve seen quite a few people breaking out their trusty flip-flops. It is beautiful out, and everyone is taking advantage of it.
Because, hey, tomorrow? We’ll probably get three feet of snow. Welcome to Oneonta.

Must See
Last night, a group of friends and I went to see 300, the new movie based off of Frank Miller’s graphic novel about the 300 Spartans who went to war with a million Persians. I had wanted to see the movie since I heard about it, and after hearing rave reviews, a large group of us decided that it could not be missed. I was definitely not disappointed.
If you like movies at all, whether for the acting, the one liners, the costumes, the soundtrack, or the cinematograpy, do yourself a favor and go see this movie. The violence was definitely gratuitous, but in the best way (think Sin City meets Kill Bill meets Troy - on crack). The cinematography was absolutely stunning - you will not want to take your eyes off of the screen for a second. I already have a copy of the soundtrack, because the music is so powerful that I couldn’t go 24 hours without listening to it.
I won’t continue to ramble on and on about it, but please, go see it right now. Seriously. Get up out of your chair and drive to the nearest movie theater and get some tickets for the next showing. Personally, I’d love to go again. Very soon. To see the trailer and find out a little bit more about it, go to the official website.

First post!
So, I’m a Hartwick blogger now! Hey assorted Hartwick-related people that may or may not be reading this. Also - hi dad. I know you’re reading this.
What’s up on campus? Well, my best friend from home, Samantha, is here to visit this weekend. She goes to Vassar - ooh, ah. Last night we went to Student Union’s event - a concert put on by two SUCO bands and a band from Albany - East Avenue, Autumn Avenue, and Red Red Wine. I actually know Red Red Wine (it’s my boyfriend’s cousins’ band), and I knew they would be awesome, but the event was a lot of fun and the turnout was pretty good. The bands were all pretty good, and RRW rocked (complete with light show and fog machine). If you want to hear some of their music, you can check out their myspace.
Today we’re going to go to Walmart (the epicenter of all student life here in Oneonta), and Sam and I might work out. I also want to show her the darkroom down in Anderson, so maybe we’ll check it out later. Does anyone have any other suggestions of things to show her around here? Events happening? Let me know!
