hARTwick

Today in Art History 402 (1945 to the Present), Doug said something hilarious that I just couldn’t not share.  And yes, in the art department, we call the professors by their first names.  Yes, we are all crazy, why do you ask?  Anyway, here’s the quote:

“No offense to butterflies, but do you think they know that they have things that look like eyes on their wings?  No, all they know is ‘Too bad about the guy that didn’t have the eyes on his wings...he just got eaten by a bird.’”

I know it makes no sense out of context, and it really isn’t that funny unless you were there, but I felt the need to share it.  I mean, after three semesters worth of classes with Doug, I have quite the collection of crazy quotes built up in different notebooks scattered throughout my room, and some of them, especially this one, just beg to be shared.  If you know Doug, you know what I mean.

250 mg of Zithromax!

Happy belated St. Patrick’s day, everyone.  What did I do yesterday?

I went to AO Fox hospital!  I’ve been sick for about two weeks, and Thursday afternoon, it got pretty much unbearable - coughing, stuffy nose, aches, pain, chills, slight fever, overall not good-ness.  And I had been getting better before that.  So yesterday morning, my boyfriend took me to AO Fox, I got in, I got checked, I got a prescription, I got out.  Less than an hour overall.  I only have bronchitis, and they prescribed me Zithromax (an antibiotic) for everything.  I already feel a million times better, and I even ate actual solid foods at brunch.  Yay me!  However, the doctor still wants me to take it easy until I’m healthy again.  So no craziness for a few days.

So, did anyone else do anything interesting yesterday?

Race for the Cure

I know that here at Hartwick, at least as students, we are asked for money on a daily basis, whether it be for food, laundry, random stuff outside of the commons, or whatever else you can think of.  But if you are looking for something extremely worthy to put your money towards, math professor Gary Stevens is walking in the 18th Annual Susan G. Komen National Race for the Cure this year with his daughter, to help raise money to fight breast cancer.  Professor Stevens sent out an email to the campus about helping him by pledging a donation, but I thought I’d help out and make it a little bit more visible to people on campus.

To pledge money to help out Professor Stevens with his goal, simply click on this link.

I’m not going to ask you to give anything, but if you do decide to help out, thank you.
